Promoting community wellness
through VACAT
Austin Vietnamese
Community Wellness Day
VACAT’s goal and purpose is to increase health and wellness awareness by educating families, promoting positive health behaviors, and encouraging early detection, prevention, and treatment of diseases. Through culturally appropriate outreach and community-centered programming, VACAT strives to empower individuals and families with the knowledge and resources needed to make informed healthcare decisions.
Our Community Wellness Days provide the public with direct access to valuable healthcare information, preventive screenings, and essential services while connecting attendees to local healthcare providers, social services, and assistance programs such as healthcare enrollment resources. These events serve as a bridge between underserved communities and critical health resources, helping reduce barriers to care through education, translation support, and community partnerships.
By collaborating with healthcare professionals, local organizations, and educational partners, VACAT not only promotes healthier lifestyles but also fosters stronger community engagement. Additionally, these events create meaningful opportunities for students and volunteers to gain hands-on experience in public health, healthcare support, leadership, and civic service—helping cultivate the next generation of community advocates while strengthening the overall well-being of the Vietnamese and broader Austin community.
