Bike Austin Ciclovia

Hello,

My name is Carson Chiu and I am working for Bike Austin in planning our Ciclovia event on August 27th at the North Austin Event Center. Our event will be located in a heavily asian populated area, and we would love to have entertainment and activities that would encourage their involvement. Bike Austin was wondering if you had any connections with Asian community groups that would be interested in coming out to the event and tabling. Or if you know of any asian community entertainment groups that would be interested in performing at the event. We are already in contact with the University of Texas Dragon Dance Team for a performance but they may not be able to come out due to the event being so close to school returning to session. Anyway if you could pass this information to anyone that you think would fit, we would be incredibly grateful. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me. Thank you for you time and I hope to be in contact soon.

Sincerely,
Carson Chiu

EEOC ISSUES NEW RESOURCE DOCUMENTS
FOR WHITE HOUSE UNITED STATE OF WOMEN SUMMIT
Documents Address Equal Pay and Pregnancy Discrimination
WASHINGTON, DC-Today, leaders from the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) will participate in the White House United State of Women Summit. The Summit gathers experts, advocates, and grassroots and business leaders who work in both domestic and international arenas to highlight key issues affecting women and girls and best practices to carry on into the future. The Summit’s plenary and breakout sessions will address topics including economic empowerment, health and wellness, educational opportunity, violence against women, entrepreneurship and innovation, and leadership and civic engagement. The Summit will be live streamed at www.theunitedstateofwomen.org.
To coincide with the Summit, EEOC released the following new resource documents that address the equal employment opportunity rights of women in the workplace:
“I am pleased that the United State of Women Summit will shine a light on the challenges that many women face in the workplace. Issues of equal pay and pregnancy discrimination are central to the work we do here at EEOC,” said Chair Jenny R. Yang. “The Commission has provided these informational resources to help women better understand their rights in the workplace and promote compliance by employers.”

EEOC enforces federal laws prohibiting employment discrimination. Further information about the EEOC is available on its web site at www.eeoc.gov.
